The Cosmo Skirt

The Cosmo Skirt is a modern, adjustable wrap skirt designed to be knitted from the top down and customized entirely to your own measurements. Worked in smooth stockinette stitch with a subtle textured edge, it allows the sequin yarn to gently twist and shimmer as it moves around the hip—creating a playful yet elegant silhouette.

The skirt is shaped through simple back-and-forth knitting, making it an accessible and enjoyable project. It is worked to your preferred length, so you can easily adapt it from a short statement piece to a longer, more dramatic style. Two integrated tie straps are knitted directly from the top edge, allowing the skirt to be wrapped and fastened at one hip for a flexible and flattering fit.

Designed with drape and movement in mind, the Cosmo Skirt embraces the natural character of sequin yarn. The fabric will stretch and evolve as it is worn, giving each piece a unique expression.

Paillettes, Lang Yarns. 
Yarndage:  112 m / 25 g.

Gauge

The Skirt is knitted on needle 10 mm in stockinette stitches: 
10 x 10 cm = 27 sts x 42 rows

This gauge has been measured on flat knitting.
However, please note that the gauge may vary significantly depending on how much the finished fabric is stretched.

That said, the result will still look beautiful, and achieving an exact gauge is not crucial for this pattern.

Estimated Yarn Amount

The pattern is knitted after your own measurements and to the length you desire, but an estimated quantity is: 

Length: 50 cm      
Size S - L = 50g 
Size XL - XXXL = 75 - 100 g 

Size S-L = 75-100 g
Size XL-XXXL= 100-125 g

Needles and accessories

• Circular needle size 10 mm
• (optional: 1 circular needles size 8 mm)
• 2 double-pointed needles size 10 mm

Construction of the Skirt

The Cosmo Skirt is knitted from the top down according to your own measurements. The skirt is worked in stockinette stitch with a border that allows the sequin yarn to wrap and twist beautifully around the hip. The Cosmo Skirt is knitted until it reaches your desired length. Two tie straps are then knitted along the top edge of the skirt, allowing it to be fastened at one hip.
